Off-piste skiing

Ski off the beaten track...

Take your pick from an incalculable number of ski corridors!

Proficient skiers (or snowboarders), set off to discover almost 100 ski corridors, 20 of which are accessible by ski lift.

Boards at the ready, everyone! Fly over the vast fields of powdery snow, take a route through the valleys or hurtle down the slopes as you forge your own path and conquer virgin territory.

The "Y", the "Entonnoir", "La Virgule", the "Petit Col” and even "La Banane" have a number of steep slopes ranging from 30 to 50% less than one hour’s walk away, where you’ll encounter fine, light powder, made for a dream skiing experience.

Vars is not only a visual delight, but also a haven for thrill-seekers. Its rich, natural heritage is ideal for exploring while the mountain terrain provides ski and snowboarding enthusiasts with many unique opportunities.

The various rocky ridges create a real sense of freedom, offering skiers a range of possible routes across virgin slopes, with vertical drops of 500-700 m.

The larch forests or the gentle slopes will delight you and help you discover breathtaking descents and wild, untouched spaces.

Some corridors...

Note: There are numerous hazards if you venture away from the marked slopes and the dangers are not as obvious as when skiing or snowboarding on piste. Sometimes, if you follow signs beyond certain limits, you may enter a "ZONE DE MONTAGNE NON SECURISEE” (unpatrolled mountain zone). This could either be "off-piste” or in a designated "mountain zone". Those skiing off-piste do so AT THEIR OWN RISK. In both instances, skiing or snowboarding in these areas is reserved for those with mountain experience. When SKIING OFF-PISTE you may be putting yourself in DANGER, but you may also ENDANGER OTHERS.
