Vars, the MTB adventure

We’re loving it on two wheels!

The resort of Vars offers around one hundred kilometres of signposted trails, accessible via the ski lifts that are open every day in summer. (8th July - 31st August)
Vars offers an elevation range of 1,000 metres and an effortless climb from the top the Mayt.

Everyone (aged 10 and over) will find an itinerary suitable for their level while discovering the diversity and beauty of the mountain landscapes.

Lift opening times



Chabrières hybrid lift: 9.15am to 12.30pm* and 1.30pm to 4.30pm*, daily from 4th July to 30th August

Sainte Marie chairlift: 9.15am to 12.30pm* and 1.30pm to 4.30pm*, Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 4th July to 30th August

Peyrol chairlift: 9.30am to 12.45pm* and 1.45pm to 4.15pm*, Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 4th July to 30th August

* last ascent. Passes are strictly personal and non-transferable (except the 10-ascent pass)
For safety reasons, in the event of bad weather (wind, storms, etc.) chairlifts may not be operating.




The fun zone



Kid zone

Designed for mountain-bike beginners and children on balance bikes, with wooden obstacles made on the premises and installed at ground level: see-saw bridge, low wall, gangways, etc.

Cool zone

Have fun on the for intermediates.

Every Thursday lunchtime, you can enjoy a free barbecue with the Vars bike patrol



Forêt Blanche Ebike trail

In the heart of the Forêt Blanche woods, this itinerary takes you exploring a beautiful landscape of forests and ridges.

Anyone can follow this easy itinerary. Short trails or long-distance adventures, the choice is yours!

Must-dos


The Vars-Embrun descent

32 km

of pure descent from the top of the Mayt to the banks of the Lac de Serre Ponçon with a height difference of 1800m.

The queen of descents

This descent, suitable for families with children (aged 10 and over) as well as experienced riders, makes its way through the forest and is scattered with rest areas.

Fully accessible from Vars via the ski lifts on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, with a shuttle from Embrun for the return trip - View the timetable
