From the Napoléon refuge, this groomed snowshoe trail leads to the summit of Peynier. A sunny hike offering exceptional panoramic views of the entire resort, with a trail map and a mountain restaurant at the top.
Starting from the Napoléon Refuge, accessible by free shuttle, the Peynier Trail is a groomed snowshoe trail that winds through open terrain, away from the forest. From the parking lot of the Napoléon Residence, behind the refuge, follow the trail markers toward Peynier.
This hike features a gradual ascent through vast, sun-drenched open spaces, with increasingly spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Along the entire route, the panorama stretches across the entire resort and the surrounding mountain landscapes.
Upon arrival, an orientation map helps you identify the main visible peaks, while the mountain restaurant Les Balcons de Peynier is an ideal stop to fully enjoy the exceptional setting. The route can also be hiked downhill from the summit of Peynier, accessible via the Bois Noir chairlift departing from Sainte-Marie.
The starting point is accessible by shuttle: Napoléon Col de Vars mountain hut
