Where can I buy my travel pass?

You can buy your ski pass online here or via the Vars app. You can also buy it from the ticket machines located: in Vars Les Claux, at the Télémix base area, at the Caribou toboggan run and at Point Show; Sainte-Marie, by the chairlift You can also go directly to the ticket offices to make your purchase.

Can I use the ski lifts with my dog, a pushchair or a baby?

Depending on the season and the type of lift, some ski lifts are accessible to dogs, pushchairs and young children. In summer , dogs and pushchairs are allowed on the Télémix. In winter , dogs and pushchairs are not permitted for safety reasons . Babies may use the ski lifts, although it is recommended to wait until they are 12 to 18 months old for greater comfort.

Is the Vars–Risoul route open?

Yes, the Vars–Risoul link is open, weather permitting. Please check the snow report before setting off. The link is accessible by ski only. Please note: a Vars ski pass requires you to start from Vars, and a Risoul ski pass requires you to start from Risoul. So please ensure you set off from the resort where you are staying.

When will the ski resort open?

The ski resort will be open for the winter season from 5 December 2026 to 11 April 2027. We can’t wait to see you again! Don’t forget our event Vars en Scène to celebrate the start of the season in style.

Are there any activities at the resort?

Yes, the Tourist Office organises a wide range of events throughout the winter. Do have a look at our events calendar so you don’t miss a thing.

Does the resort offer any activities other than skiing?

Absolutely! The Caribou toboggan run, Vars Mountain Kart, swimming pool, snowshoeing and wellness facilities offer a different way to enjoy the mountains. Discover all our non-skiing activities HERE .

Can I take a break from my ski pass for a few days and then go skiing again later?

Passes are valid on consecutive days from their start date. We recommend that you choose the option that best suits your holiday plans.

What time do the ski lifts open?

The ski lifts usually open at 9.00 am. Closing times vary depending on the lift and weather conditions, with operations continuing until as late as 4.50 pm.

Do the ski lifts run when it’s snowing?

Yes, the ski lifts remain open even when it snows. However, their operating arrangements may be adjusted in the event of exceptional conditions, particularly in the event of strong winds or a significant risk of avalanches.
