Speed Masters and World Championship

2026 edition

During the Speed Masters, the world’s best speed skiers set off to reach dizzying speeds and attempt to beat the world speed skiing record of 255.5 km/h, set by the Frenchman Simon Billy. The 2026 event saw the start take place from the summit of the Chabrières run – only the third time this has happened in 10 years.

Speed Masters

The concept

At the 2026 event, France’s Simon Billy and Italy’s Valentina Greggio retained their world championship titles in the discipline.

This is Simon’s fifth consecutive title and Valentina’s sixth. Together, they have demonstrated their total dominance of this incredible sport.

The concept

The concept behind the event is very simple: to go as fast as possible to break the world speed skiing record. It is quite simply the fastest skiing competition on the planet. Only the world’s best speed skiers are invited to this event. It is one of the few opportunities for these competitors to set off from the top of the Chabrières run and race down the entire legendary course.
