Le Val d'Escreins

Established in 1964, this nature reserve is a true haven of peace, preserved throughout the seasons. A true green lung for Vars, it stretches across wild landscapes through which the Rif Bel torrent flows – a stream of white water that rises from the rocky heights reaching an altitude of 3,385 metres. Although autumn is still in its early stages, it is beginning to weave its own special magic. The forests of larch, Scots pine and spruce are gradually taking on shades of gold, copper and bright red, transforming the landscape into a living painting. With each passing day, the autumnal palette deepens, promising a unique spectacle with every visit.

The fresh air and tranquillity of the area make it a prime destination for hiking and observing wildlife in its natural habitat.
