
How to get to Vars
When it’s time to go on vacation, it’s always a good idea to get organized. To make sure your trip goes off without a hitch, prepare in advance so you can start your long-awaited snow vacation with peace of mind.

Let yourself be seducedby car
Take the A51 freeway towards Gap as far as the Saulce toll booth, then towards Embrun / Guillestre then Vars.
Take the A6 freeway to Lyon, then the A43 to Grenoble. Then head for Briançon via the Col du Lautaret or Gap via the Col Bayard, then Embrun / Guillestre and Vars.

Light vehicles, commercial vehicles and motor homes must, from November 1 to March 31:
Either be fitted with metal or textile snow chains to equip at least two drive wheels, or be equipped with four 3PMSF-certified winter tires (logo on the sidewall of the tire representing 3 peaks with a snowflake) or 4-season tires, whatever the weather conditions.

To make your overnight journeys between Austerlitz station and Mont-Dauphin / Guillestre station. Daily shuttle bus connections are available for a fee to access the resort.

To Oulx and Marseille / Saint Charles stations. A shuttle bus or TER train to Mont-Dauphin / Guillestre station will take you to the resort.
From all over France to Mont-Dauphin / Guillestre station, 15 km from the resort. There are daily shuttle bus connections to the resort for a fee.

- I want the fastest route from Paris by public transport.
This will be the Paris-Oulx TGV journey, followed by the direct Oulx-Vars bus link with Neige Express. Total journey time: 7h20, compared with a minimum of 8h for the other routes.
Please note, check the dates of the Oulx-Vars shuttle bus, which only runs on certain dates. - I don't want to spend all day in transport.
- I'm coming with my 3 small children from Aix. What's the easiest way to get to Vars without a car?
Without doubt, the direct Neige Express link: a coach picks you up at the TGV station and takes you straight to Vars! No connections, so your mind is free and there’s no stress… the perfect way to start your vacation.
- I don't have a car and I need to go down to Guillestre during the week. What are my options?
A daily shuttle service takes you down into the valley, to Guillestre and the SNCF train station. Timetables vary according to the time of year, so be sure to read the dedicated information sheet.
