A ski area

For almost 30 years, Vars has been the temple of the Kilometre Lancé. The world ski speed record was set here in 2023 by French skier Simon Billy, with a speed of 255.50 km/h. Every year, the world’s fastest skiers gather on the Chabrières slope to break the speed record.

Accessible on foot or on skis, the Caribou toboggan run has become a must for every stay in Vars. Over a kilometer of descent winding through the larch trees, mixing twists, waves and banked turns to send you tumbling between two runs.

From experienced riders to daredevil beginners, there’s something for everyone in the ski area’s snowparks and fun areas. This winter, the Eyssina park will be revamped to include a new expert line and a new boarder cross.

You may have discovered this discipline last winter. Ski touring is on the up and is becoming a real sporting alternative for enjoying the great outdoors. This winter, an additional 4 km of marked trails will enable you to enjoy this activity in complete safety.

More than 60 km of groomed and marked trails (including a new itinerary at the top of the new Bois Noir chairlift) are available for all kinds of activities: hiking, snowshoeing, fat biking and cross-country skiing.
