A ski area

There are over 60 km of groomed and signposted trails (including a new route at the top of the new Bois Noir chairlift) available for you to enjoy all kinds of activities: walking, snowshoeing, fat biking or even cross-country skiing.

You may have discovered this sport last winter. Ski touring is gaining popularity and is becoming a genuine sporting alternative for enjoying the great outdoors. An extra 4 km of signposted routes will allow you to enjoy this activity in complete safety this winter.

For nearly 30 years, Vars has been the mecca of the Kilomètre Lancé. In fact, the world speed skiing record was set there in 2023 by the Frenchman Simon Billy, who reached a speed of 255.50 km/h. Every year, the world’s fastest skiers gather on the Chabrières run to send the speedometers into a frenzy.

Accessible on foot or on skis, the Caribou toboggan run has become an unmissable part of any holiday in Vars. A descent of over a kilometre winds its way through the larch trees, combining twists, undulations and banked bends to send you hurtling down between two ski runs.

From experienced riders to daring beginners, there’s something for everyone in the ski area’s snowparks and fun zones. As an added bonus this winter, the revamped Eyssina park will feature a new expert line and a new boardercross course.
