At the age of 16, after a year in the USA where he was introduced to music and musical comedy, he moved to Marseille, enrolled in a cant class at the conservatoire and took art history courses.
In 2007, he won two grand prizes in European competitions (Ravel-Granados and Fondation Léopold Bellan). He is taught by eminent professors, gives recitals and performs in many countries in roles such as Tamino in The Magic Flute or Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Juan...
Philippe Nava was born in Marseilles, where he won gold medals in trumpet and chamber music before completing his training at the Conservatoire National de Paris, where he was unanimously awarded 1st prize. Principal trumpet with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, he returned to his hometown in 2005 to become soloist with the Orchestre Philarmonique de l'Opéra de Marseille. He also teaches at the Conservatoire National à Rayonnement Régional de Marseille.
