From classical music to French chanson, from opera to film scores, let yourself be carried away by a wide-ranging repertoire featuring Schubert, Marcello, Carmen, Trénet, Morricone... Sunday, July 26, 6:30 p.m.: All About Animals! Guillaume Gionta, organist at Montpellier Cathedral; François Castang, narrator Blending poetry and whimsy, this concert invites you to rediscover the animal world through vibrant organ works, culminating in an adaptation of C. Saint-Saëns’s “The Carnival of the Animals,” punctuated by texts by Francis Blanche. A musical journey full of surprises! Friday, July 31, 6:30 p.m.: Choir and instrumental ensemble This concert marks the conclusion of the choral workshop taking place from July 25 to August 1 at the Vars Sainte-Marie Ecumenical Center. W.A. Mozart, *Litanae Lauretanae* K. 109, conducted by Jean-François Sénart; J. Rheinberger, *Stabat Mater* Op. 138, conducted by Sarah Cattan Accompanied by an instrumental ensemble and led by two passionate conductors, the choir members will present the culmination of a week of work and collaboration centered on two major works from the repertoire. Sunday, August 9, 6:30 p.m.: A Journey to the Heart of Baroque Europe Charlotte Dumas: Trained at the Lyon Conservatory of Music. Professor at the Vichy Conservatory J.S. Bach, N. Bruhns, A. Noordt, and other masters of the 17th and 18th centuries. Combining virtuosity, expressiveness, and spirituality, this program invites the audience to discover the many facets of Baroque aesthetics, from the splendor of European courts to the intimacy of organ and keyboard music. Saturday, August 15, 6:30 p.m.: Heritage Festival To celebrate the feast of Vars Sainte-Marie, come enjoy an exceptional evening of music featuring the Vars organ, with pieces you love... Frédéric Mayeur, cathedral organist and professor at the Dijon Conservatory; Laureen Thinnes-Stoulg, soprano. These two musicians have been given free rein… From famous pieces to lesser-known works, enjoy sharing a moment of beauty and camaraderie!
