With less than a month to go before the start of the winter season, preparations are underway in the ski area to welcome you in the best possible conditions.

With the cold weather that set in at the beginning of the week, the ski area teams were able to start producing artificial snow. It’s always a good sign that the winter season is just around the corner. The conditions forecast for the coming days are also favorable for snow production, with a cold snap that looks set to intensify and stay for several days.

The artificial snow network

The snowmaking network has long been a strength of the Vars ski area. Today, some 320 snow guns cover 30% of the ski area. New this year is the extension of this network to the Eyssina park sector.

Sprinkling

A thin layer of snow fell on the resort this morning, whitening the hitherto autumnal landscape. This augurs well for the big day on December 11, when the ski area will open non-stop, accompanied by a concert by Mika.
