Chute Neige BdOn Monday 24 November 2025, Vars recorded its first significant snowfall of the winter season. At Vars les Claux, the depth of fresh snow reached 25cm, while at higher altitudes, the summits were enveloped in 50cm of snow, creating a wintry landscape across the resort.
Opening of the ski area – Saturday 6 December 2025
The Vars la Forêt Blanche ski area will open on Saturday 6 December 2025 to kick off the season early and continuously. Find out all you need to know about this pre-opening HERE. The Vars-Risoul link will open on Saturday 13 December 2025.
The ski area will remain open until 6 April 2026 (Easter Monday).
The mountains are now wearing their white coat. In Vars les Claux, the 25cm of snow that fell during the day evenly covered the village, the heart of the ski area. At higher altitudes, the 50cm of snow that fell covered the peaks and slopes, marking the transition to winter.
The roofs were full of snow and the larch trees were dressed in white. These snowfalls not only create a magical and peaceful atmosphere, but also optimum conditions for the start of the winter season, which is fast approaching.
