How do I get to the concert area?

The concert venue and refreshment bar will open at 5.30 pm. The Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals concert will take place at 6.30 pm at Vars les Claux, on the snow front of the Chabrières Telemix. There are access points on both sides of the area: one entrance next to the ESF chalet and another near the doctor’s surgery.

Is there access for people with reduced mobility?

Yes, please meet at the entrance by the ESF hut at 5.30 pm.

Can I get to the concert by bus?

Free shuttle buses from Guillestre are available. Shuttles from Gap are also available from Autocars Imbert, subject to booking .

Is there a first-aid and security post on the concert site?

Yes, first-aid teams will be on site during the concert, and there will also be a first-aid post. Private security: access control for the concert area, plus surveillance of the stage, control room, technical car park and VIP area.

Is there a refreshment area in the concert zone?

Yes, the ‘We are Hautes Alpes’ charity will be running a refreshment stall in the concert area from 5.30 pm (mulled wine, beer, hot chocolate, juice)

Where should I park if I’m only coming for the concert?

There are plenty of free car parks available. Members of the Municipal Police will be on site to direct you on arrival. Please feel free to consult the car park maps . Please remember that special mountain equipment is compulsory.

What should I wear to this concert?

The concert is taking place outdoors in the evening. All the more reason to make sure you’re well wrapped up: sturdy boots with warm socks, a full set of ski clothing, a hat and gloves.

I’d like to eat at a restaurant after the concert – is that possible?

There are plenty of restaurants just waiting for you! A word of advice: book in advance!

Are there any prohibited items at the concert venue?

Any object that could be used as a projectile, constitute a weapon or endanger public safety, in particular: knives and sharp objects, explosives, aerosols, lasers, weapons, explosive substances, plastic and glass bottles, tins and water bottles. The following are also prohibited: cameras and audio and/or video recording devices, large umbrellas, motorbike helmets, pushchairs, scooters, skateboards, selfie sticks, rucksacks larger than 10 litres, suitcases, laptops, tablets and power banks. Visual checks will be carried out at both entrances to the site.

For nearly twenty years, ‘ Vars en Scène ’ has marked the start of the winter season and brought mountain lovers together to share and celebrate. For its 18th edition, this iconic event is being revamped and will become the ‘ Vars en Scène ’ Festival: a new, festive format that is free and open to all, which will bring the resort to life with music, entertainment and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

For nearly twenty years, ‘ Vars en Scène ’ has marked the start of the winter season, bringing together winter sports enthusiasts, locals and holidaymakers for an unmissable festive occasion. For its 18th edition, the event is taking a new step forward and transforming intoa festival to kick off the season.

In the heart of the Claux snow front, we’ll be welcoming you to three festive events – all free and open to everyone – over the first three weekends of December. Concerts, shows and entertainment will set the tone for the start of the season in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with the unique blend that defines Vars’ DNA: the mountains, a sense of community and excitement.

Opening DJ set

5 December 2026

To celebrate the opening of the ski area, the base of the slopes will be transformed into an open-air dancefloor. A festive and friendly DJ set will set the tone for this new winter season.

Free concert

12 December 2026

A week later, it’s time for live music with a free concert in the heart of the resort. A community event to keep the festive spirit of early winter alive.

Grand Illusion Show

20 December 2026

To bring this first edition of the festival to a close, Vars will welcome a renowned illusionist for a show combining magic, mystery and wonder, just a few days before the festive season.
