Speed Masters and World Championship

2026 edition

At Speed Masters, the world’s best KL racers set off at breathtaking speeds in a bid to beat the world ski speed record of 255.5 km/h set by France’s Simon Billy. The 2026 edition saw a start from the top of the Chabrières piste, only the 3rd in 10 years.

Speed Masters

The concept

At the 2026 event, Frenchman Simon Billy and Italian Valentina Greggio retained their world championship titles in the discipline.

This is Simon’s 5th consecutive title and Valentina’s 6th. Between them, they prove their total domination of this incredible sport.

The concept

The concept of the event is very simple: go as fast as you can to beat the world ski speed record. Quite simply, it’s the fastest ski competition on the planet. Only the world’s best KLists are invited to this event. It’s one of the only opportunities these competitors have to take off from the top of the Chabrières piste and race down the mythical slope in its entirety.
