Speed skiing world cups

From 26 January to 1 February

On the legendary Chabrières piste, the best speed skiers reach breathtaking speeds thanks to their very specific equipment during the World Cup. See you in January!

Vars

and ski rockets

From 26 January to 1 February 2026, Vars will be hosting the 2026 World Cup of Speed Skiing.

No doubt you won’t be able to miss the ski rockets on the Chabrières piste with their highly specialised equipment: aerodynamic latex suits to minimise air resistance, 2m40 long skis, helmets, fins and streamlined poles.

Last year, the Italians dominated the two stages of the World Cup in speed skiing, with Simone Origone in the men’s race and Valentina Greggio in the women’s race. In the second stage, Valentina set the fastest time of the competition, even outperforming the men.
