Freestyle skiing

A week under the sign of the show

Vars Park – European standard terrain

The Vars snowpark was praised by all the teams present for offering European-level terrain, enabling them to perform high-level, high-quality tricks.

French Cup

Slopestyle

The French Slopestyle Cup held on Sunday 8 March 2026 in Vars put on a show of a very high standard. Despite tougher-than-expected snow conditions, the riders showed great motivation and adaptability on a demanding course. Longer than the formats usually offered in the French Cup, the slopestyle included three tables and two rails, forming a technical line that put the competitors to the test.

On home soil, the youngsters from the local club shone particularly brightly. Maceo Crampe, aged 16, took second place on the podium after a very fine run. Carlos Cera also put in a fine performance to reach the final. Both took advantage of their knowledge of the Vars snowpark to deliver solid runs, including double corks and rotations of up to three-and-a-half turns.

European Cup

Slopestyle

The final of the European Slopestyle Cup, held on Thursday 12 March 2026, took place in excellent conditions despite a few technical problems at the start of the day and a thin layer of snow falling on the snowpark. In the end, it was in bright sunshine that the finalists put in some very fine runs, combining fluidity, technicality and amplitude. Nils Rhyner, a 23-year-old Swiss, won this European Slopestyle Cup, following his participation in the 2026 Olympic Games. On the French side, several athletes were in contention for the top spots, but none managed to put down a perfectly clean run from top to bottom.

In the women’s race, however, two French athletes finished on the podium: Kim Dumont Zanella won ahead of Poppy McGree, while Italy’s Heidi Pescollderungg completed the podium.

Big Air

French triple in the women’s event, Swiss triple in the men’s event

On this last day of competition under the sun, the Vars snowpark was alive with the rhythm of the Big Air event, the final event in a week already packed with performances. The concept is simple, but the demands are maximum: a single, imposing, perfectly shaped bump, where each rider has to give his best by sending his most technical and committed tricks to seduce the judges and spectators.

In the men’s category, Switzerland made its mark with an impressive hat-trick, led by Adrien Vaudaux. Already brilliant the day before with a 2ᵉ place in the slopestyle, he confirmed his excellent form by winning this Big Air final.

On the women’s side, France responded with an equally remarkable hat-trick. Poppy Mc Gree shone with a powerful and perfectly controlled run. She thus took her revenge after her 2ᵉ place in slopestyle, proving all her versatility and ability to perform on the most demanding modules of the Varspark.
