An accessible yet challenging loop

On Sunday 26 July 2026, the Foulée du Château brought together 307 runners, whether they were taking part in the 3 Formats Challenge or had come specifically for this accessible loop, which was far from straightforward.

Covering 10 km with 430 m of elevation gain, this route once again captivated participants with its varied landscapes and dynamic profile. Setting off from Vars Sainte-Marie, the trail runners quickly gained altitude towards the hamlet of Le Château, above the village of Saint-Marcellin.

Open to runners from the Cadet category upwards, this event has cemented its success by offering a fast-paced format, accessible to as many people as possible, whilst providing a wonderful mountain trail running experience.
