The final event of the ‘ Vars Mountain Trail ’ was the Trail Biathlon, which combined agility, concentration and physical effort in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
Between 9.30 am and 11.30 am, participants first took part in a rifle shooting session. It was this shooting session, rather than a time trial, that determined the starting order for the race: the most accurate shooters set off first, followed by the others at intervals of a few seconds.
Once on the course, the youngest age group completed one lap, whilst the next age group had to complete two.
