A high-altitude challenge amidst the peaks
The Tour des Crêtes, the weekend’s flagship event, once again offered participants an immersive experience amidst the high-altitude landscapes of Vars on Saturday 26 July 2026. With panoramic ridges, 360° views, gruelling climbs and technical descents, the trail runners tackled a route that was as spectacular as it was demanding.
New for this edition, the race could also be contested as a two-person relay, allowing participants to share the effort whilst discovering the course’s most stunning views.
Alternating between mountain trails, balcony-style sections and more challenging stretches, this course demanded both physical prowess and the ability to pace oneself. A well-rounded event, where endurance, technical skill and the ability to adapt to the terrain were key to overcoming this high-altitude challenge.
